Introduction

Well I've finally made it to my senior year of college! I am very ready to bravely go into the "real world" with a college degree and start my life on my own. My degree is in German and so I was given the option to either spend my last year at my university or in Germany. Well that was a no-brainer. Germany Please! After completing tons of paper work, meetings, and enough issues to almost make me not want to go, I finally am in my last week of life at home. Next week I take a 15 hour flight to Tübingen and then spend my entire last year of college immersed in German culture. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm excited. I should be but I think I'm more in a state of shock and the whole thing still doesn't feel real. I have never traveled this far on my own or been on my own for this amount of time so obviously I'm very nervous. Plus this trip (although it is a life changing, amazing opportunity) will be very expensive so I am a bit worried about money. I am making this blog to document my trip abroad and maybe use it for future travels as well. I know it sounds like I'm going to Japan (I wish!!) but anyone who knows me knows my loves for kitties (I will miss mine a great deal). I'm sure mostly friends and family will be keeping track of this blog but maybe others will find it entertaining as well. I plan on taking an insane amount of pictures and traveling at least all over Germany and, finances allowing, to surrounding countries. I plan on attending as many conventions, holiday events, theatrical performances, and other attractions as possible. Since I will be missing all my usual US anime conventions I am going to try to attend AniMaCo held in Berlin in November. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I start this new adventure. More to come soon!
